Hagstrom Engineering was contracted by Alexandria Public Schools to provide Land Consulting and Development and Civil Engineering services for a redesign of the Lincoln Elementary School Parking Lot.  The existing elementary school is located near downtown Alexandria, MN.  With the increase in vehicles dropping off and picking up children from school, the layout of the existing parking lot was determined to be unsafe and vehicle wait times were extensive.  Hagstrom Engineering worked with Lincoln School as well as Alexandria Public School staff to determine a layout that would help with the safety and flow of traffic by separating bus and parent access points as well as staff parking.  Civil Construction Documents were then developed and the project was constructed in 2021.

The project included parking lot, sidewalk, utility relocation, grading, erosion control SWPPP, drainage design, and photometric coordination on the 2.7 acre area of disturbance.  Site design, drainage design, and erosion control best management practices met City of Alexandria as well as MPCA criteria.
