Alexandria Light and Power New Facility
Alexandria, MN

Hagstrom Engineering was contracted to provide Land Consulting and Civil Engineering services for a 42,000 SF Facility housing Alexandria Light and Power (ALP) in Alexandria, MN.  Hagstrom Engineering was a part of the site selection team as they analyzed multiple sites regarding zoning, traffic flow, utility connections, and preliminary grading and drainage. Upon selection, Hagstrom Engineering represented ALP before the City of Alexandria Planning Commission to receive a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for construction. Once the CUP was awarded, Hagstrom Engineering completed a preliminary site layout for optimal access, grading, and drainage.

Civil Engineering services provided by Hagstrom Engineering for the 14.7 acre selected site included design of the drive aisles, parking, sidewalks, pole yard, drainage facilities, water quality and detention and pond, utilities, site access, and pad grading for future pole yard, substation, generator, and water tower.  Hagstrom Engineering also collaborated with Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District (ALASD) to provide design for connection of the sanitary sewer approximately 1,370 LF to the east of the site. Hagstrom Engineering coordinated, and provided design in accordance with, the owner (ALP), the City of Alexandria, Douglas County, Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District, and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
